Established in 2002, the Center for Judaic, Holocaust, and Peace Studies (CJHPS) at Appalachian State University provides educational opportunities and cultural events to students, teachers, and the community, promoting tolerance, remembrance, understanding, and respect for all human life.

CJHPS Conference

Events and Conferences

The Center hosts a variety of cultural and educational programs open to the public and university community, including annual remembrance events, lectures and genocide survicor testimonials, and co-sponsored conferences.

Annual Symposium

The annual Martin and Doris Rosen Symposium for educators, students, and community members presents topical research, curriculum and classroom strategies, and peer support for successfully introducing and engaging learners in holocaust education and peace studies.
