Student Educational and Engagement Opportunities
The Center for Judaic, Holocaust and Peace Studies creates pathways for students to learn, question, research, and engage with some of the most important human stories of our time. From our interdisciplinary undergraduate minor to the White Rose Research Contest for grades 8–12, we offer opportunities for students of all ages to develop their understanding of history, memory, and social responsibility.
Undergraduate Academic Opportunities
Students at Appalachian State University have the opportunity to enhance their academic experience, degree program, and research potential through enrollment in the Judaic, Holocaust, and Peace Studies (JHP) minor, engagement in a unique study abroad research course, or submission of relevant work for Academic Honors Awards.
White Rose Student Research Contest
North Carolina students in grades 8-12 are invited to participate in the White Rose Student Research Contest, exploring topics and primary source materials related to the WWII Holocaust. A new topic is selected each year, and students can submit work in either the Essay or Documentary category.
