Luke Barber interviews Dr. Peter Petschauer. Over the years, Dr. Petschauer has used his personal story to help provide insight into perpetrators of genocide. He has lectured alongside child survivor of the Holocaust Dr. Zohara Boyd in order to provide a unique educational perspective on the subject matter by presenting the viewpoints of the victims of the Holocaust and those who carried it out, although it is worth noting that Dr. Petschauer’s father was not directly involved. In this conversation Barber and Dr. Petschauer discuss a variety of subject material, including Dr. Petschauer’s upbringing, his relationship with his father, his academic pursuits, leaving Europe for the United States, writing, poetry, the study of psychohistory and how nationalism continues to influence politics today.
